Top 3 Places to See Christmas Lights in South Orange County

It’s that time of year again! Strands of Christmas lights have been popping up on homes and businesses across the country. There are some truly amazing displays of lights, where neighborhoods and organizations alike ban together to put on a beautiful light show!

Check out the best Christmas Lights in South Orange County.

  1. Candy Cane Lane, RSM

Where: El Corzo, Rancho Santa Margarita. Major cross streets: Melinda and Las Fieras.

When: The whole month of December

Candy Cane Lane is located in Rancho Santa Margarita, just outside of Mission Viejo. A normal neighborhood the in every other season, El Corzo transforms into a magical holiday world in the month of December. Yards are decked out with fake snow, gingerbread houses, elves, and reindeer.

Every year students from Trabuco Hills High School spend a few nights collecting donations in exchange for chewy cookies and hot cocoa at Candy Cane Lane. Check out their video from last year.

2.  Nellie Gail Ranch

Where: Nellie Gail Ranch, Laguna Hills. Route your GPS to the Tennis Club and drive around the neighborhood from there. Location: 25281 Empty Saddle Dr, Laguna Hills, CA 92653. Major cross streets: Oso Pkwy & Nellie Gail Road.

When: The whole month of December

Nellie Gail is one of the more affluent neighborhoods in Laguna Hills, and is certainly worth the drive. Check out this amazing display, winners of the 2010 Christmas Lights contest.

Dana Point Harbor Boat Parade
Where: Dana Point Harbor Drive,  Dana Point
When: December 11, 12, 18, 19 at 7:30pm

While the IlluminOcean light display won’t be back for 2015, the Dana Point Harbor Boat Parade will still go on! Grab a spot in the harbor to sit or stop at one of the restaurants overlooking the Harbor. Boat rides with Santa are also available for kids December 5th and 6th from 10am-2pm. Newport Beach Boat Parade

While Newport Beach is located a little farther north, they have a Christmas Boat Parade as well. Get info on the Newport Parade here.
