Yelp Gives Consumer Ability to Message Businesses

Does your company have a Yelp Business Account? You may be hearing from your customers very soon. Yelp has rolled out the ability for customer accounts to message business accounts.


I think this is a big step forward for both businesses who are active on Yelp and customers who aren’t interested in picking up the phone- especially the under-30 set. These messages are sent within Yelp, not by text or email, which may cause a problem for those who don’t check their Yelp profiles often. I assume Yelp will have a feature where you are informed when you get a message but you never know.
