A study by credit giant Experience claims that mothers with children under 5 are more active on social media than the general public. These mothers are twice as likely to post comments on social-networking websites than the rest of the U.S. population, according to the study.
25,000 people were polled for the study, with moms with kids under 5 proving to be the most likely to jump on social media than the average person. A median age of 32.5 means that most of these moms are more settled into family life than younger moms.
The study also showed that moms with kids under 5 are more likely to shop on mobile devices such as iPads. Anyone who has ever been around a toddler knows that they can’t sit still for very long, so this sensation makes sense.
Also not surprisingly, moms tend to spend less time on social media as their kids get older. It was also found that 38% of kids under 2 use mobile media.
Do these findings surprise you? Why do you think moms with young children spend more time on social media?
