Up until recently, Pillsbury’s Toaster Strudel had no social media presence to speak of. Now they are on Facebook and Twitter, with a little tool called the Strudel Düdeler, a machine powered by tweets, which makes icing art on your Toaster Strudel. Twitter users who tweet details about what they to do get their morning going (along with the hashtag #StrudelArt) will receive a picture of a Strudel with personalized icing art.
With an abysmal 55,000 Facebook fans and less than 100 Twitter followers, Toaster Strudel is hoping this simple campaign will kick their social media presence into high gear. Once the personalized strudels are generated, they are posted to the Facebook page and tweeted to the submitters.
Pretty sweet campaign for a social media newbie if you ask me.
